Harnesses are sized by chest girth, with neck listed so you can double-check the fit. Measure around the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs, then around the base of the neck.

A cushioned chest panel spreads the pull across the ribcage instead of the neck. On a dog that leans into the leash, that is the difference between steady pressure and coughing through the whole walk.
Harness rub shows up first as red skin in the armpits, where bare webbing saws against the body on every stride. The padding here runs to the buckle rather than stopping short of it.
Sizing runs off a tape measure around the ribcage just behind the front legs, and the neck and chest straps adjust separately. Two fingers flat under a strap is a fit. A gap you can slide a hand into is how dogs back out.
Hales started with one simple idea: gear that feels as good on day 300 as it did on day one. Every harness, collar and leash is tested for comfort and strength, then shipped free across Canada with 30-day easy returns.
We believe great gear isn't just about getting out the door. It's the details you feel in your hand every day, from the braid to the clasp.
